A Re-Markable Girl
Hi
I am organizing a night in aid of The Charlotte Robinson Trust, 3rd Nov Quayside Exchange Sunderland, 7pm- 1am The Rattlers are playing http://www.myspace.com/therattlersband and we have some fantastic prizes. £2 entry
More the Merrier
Charlotte is my partners daughter, on the 29th May 2006 she contracted meningococcal disease, septicemia and meningitis while on a trip with friends to Alton Towers.
Charlotte spent the next four months fighting desperately for her life in intensive care departments at North Staffordshire Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. With wonderful medical and nursing care, and the support of family at her bedside, she has miraculously survived a series of life-threatening events and complications unfortunately Charlotte has lost both her legs and fingers on her right hand and has many other medical problems. She has narrowly survived and will require ongoing care and support for life.
We aim to raise funds for Charlotte to support her for the rest of her life and also raise awareness of Meningitis.
If you would like to read Charlotte's storey her links are below and for her progress her sister Sophie keeps a blog spot please have a look and leave a message if you wish all messages are passed onto Charlotte and make a big difference she has been out of contact with the outside world for a number of weeks now.
